Cayenne Pepper

There are a number of herbs and spices that act as natural blood thinners.

Many foods that people use regularly, such as cayenne pepper, contain substances that thin the blood. Foods that contain salicylates, omega-3 fatty acids, high vitamin E content, or natural antibiotics are all natural blood thinners. It is important to talk to your doctor before taking any of these supplements, especially if you are on a medication to thin blood such as Coumadin. If you are going to have surgery, let your doctor know what you are taking. Often they will want you off the supplements for at least two weeks before your surgery date.
